China Coal Group

China Coal Energy Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as China Coal) is a key state-owned enterprise managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Its predecessor was China Coal Import and Export Corporation established in July 1982. Its main businesses include coal production and trade, coal chemical industry, power generation, coal mine construction, coal mine equipment manufacturing and related engineering and technical services, covering the entire coal industry chain and shouldering the important mission of ensuring national energy security. The existing controllable coal resource reserves exceed 76 billion tons, more than 70 coal mines are in production or under construction, the total coal production capacity reaches 300 million tons, and the annual coal trade volume is 320 million tons. The total coal chemical production capacity exceeds 10 million tons, and its products mainly include coal-to-olefins, methanol, urea, ammonium nitrate, coke, etc. There are currently more than 50 holding or joint-stock power plants with a total installed capacity of more than 40 million kilowatts. The comprehensive strength, technical level and market share of coal mine design and construction and coal machinery equipment manufacturing rank among the top in the industry. It owns three listed companies: China Coal Energy, Shanghai Energy and Xinji Energy. As of the end of 2022, China Coal has total assets under management of 600 billion yuan and 130,000 employees. It has been ranked among the top 500 companies in the world by Fortune for three consecutive years.
